Service is an amazing opportunity. Through Make-A-Wish® I get to meet amazing kids and families on a regular basis. People ask me why I volunteer for Make-A-Wish and I tell them that I do it because I love seeing families find joy in their most difficult times. I have been a wish granter for almost a year and have been involved in 9 wishes. I feel that with every wish I help grant, I learn more about the power that a wish has in the lives of these families. For a short moment they have the chance to be a normal family spending time together in an extraordinary place while not having to worry about doctors or hospitals. My job allows me to be involved with Make-A-Wish in other ways as well, it allows for a chance to help raise money directly from the community to support wishes. I started to volunteer for Make-A-Wish because I wanted to help the community and serve those in it, I get that chance every time I meet a wish family. I’m looking forward to many more years of service.
