Princess-loving Kenley is a sweet, happy 3-year-old girl who adores Princess Anna and Princess Elsa from Disney’s Frozen. Despite her young age, Kenley has undergone several major procedures since being diagnosed with hepatoblastoma, a tumor on her liver. In addition to two rounds of chemotherapy, Kenley had to have over half of her liver removed to rid her body of the tumor. She spent a lot of time in the hospital and still felt weak as she recovered at home.
All of the stress and worry during these treatments also took a toll on Kenley’s family, who like Kenley longed for a break from hospitals and doctors. When Kenley was presented with the opportunity to make a wish, she asked to take her family to her favorite theme parks in Orlando.
Kenley learned her wish was being granted during a princess party held in her honor. Princesses Anna and Elsa greeted Kenley at the door, and helped her open a large box full of balloons that housed a proclamation stating Kenley’s wish would come true. Soon after, Kenley and her family jetted off to Florida where Kenley met every princess she could think of (and never waited in line!).
In addition to riding rides, having her face painted, and eating all the ice cream she wanted at Give Kids the World Village®, Kenley received a private dinner with all of the characters from Disney’s Winnie the Pooh. Her mom said this was a fun and special experience Kenley will always remember.
“Make-a-Wish® Utah provided us with something to look forward to after going through so many trials,” Kenley’s mom continued. “The trip was a celebration of Kenley's health and a stress reliever for all of us. It was so special to get to spend a whole week together with no other cares or worries. We were able to experience things that we wouldn't have been able to afford on our own. It helped my kids find happiness and joy again after months and months of a very long and rough road.”
