Ariya was just nine months old when she was diagnosed with brain cancer. Originally, Ariya’s parents were told that she had a fatal brain defect that would only allow her to live one week to six months. When her diagnosis was changed to cancer, Ariya’s parents were actually relieved: their daughter had a chance to fight and live.
By age 2 ½, Ariya and her parents were referred to Make-A-Wish Utah. Ariya is initially little shy when meeting strangers, but she warmed quickly to her wish granters and had a blast visiting A Wishing Place to declare her wish. Ariya loves “Mouse” (Mickey Mouse), Minnie, Moana, and Frozen, so it was no surprise to anyone that her one true wish was to meet her favorite characters at Walt Disney World.
Ariya and her family packed their bags and jetted off to Orlando. When they arrived, Ariya immediately fell in love with her new home for the week, Give Kids the World Village. During her stay, Ariya’s favorite pastime was playing on the swimming pad at the resort.
Ariya loved spending time with her favorite characters at the Disney parks. She was able to meet Mickey Mouse, Minnie, all of her favorite princesses, and her new favorite character, Goofy! Another highlight of her trip was seeing the carousel at Magic Kingdom and going horseback riding with her family.
