Taiana’s story is remarkable. As she was applying for college, she prayed for a trial that she could write about. Two weeks later, she started experiencing stomach pains. She was misdiagnosed until one morning she told her mom that she dreamed it was cancer. Her family took her to get tested and she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
Throughout treatment, Taiana had incredible courage and strength. Doctors were amazed by how positive she remained. She continues to view her trial as unexpected, but one she is grateful for. When Taiana was told she would be granted a wish, she decided to go on a shopping spree.
This wish signified a start to her next chapter of life: college. Her shopping spree gave her the ability to shop for college essentials—specifically, a new laptop! Taiana has always been artsy and this laptop gave her the freedom to edit pictures and pursue other graphic design interests. She is currently in the midst of starting her own personalized laptop cover business. She uses a program on her laptop to design the content and a printer she got during her shopping spree to create the product. She has designed many covers for friends and it’s just a matter of time before this start-up business launches!
For Taiana, her wish continues to give. Taiana’s cancer has returned and on the days she’s not feeling well, she uses her laptop to write. She has been able to participate in speaking engagements and finds ways to utilize her laptop every day. Despite the trials, Taiana continues to spread her light wherever she goes.
