Adrian's Wish to go to Disney World

“ This trip put a positive spin on being diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, and we always remind him of that. ”

- Adrian's Mom

Six weeks after being born, Adrian was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. He was one of the first babies in Utah to be diagnosed thanks to the recently introduced newborn screening.

Adrian undergoes treatments for his condition daily, including breathing treatments twice a day and up to 20 pills daily to manage his symptoms. Adrian does not let this rigorous schedule put him down. Instead, Adrian loves people, and he is always making new friends with anyone he meets!

Adrian wished to go to The Happiest Place on Earth, Walt Disney World®! He loves all things Disney and was so excited for his wish trip. Adrian and his family really enjoyed exploring their new home for the week, Give Kids the World Village®. Adrian’s mom said he began asking about Mayor Clayton, the Give Kid’s the World bunny mayor, immediately after arriving and soon after received a very special visit.

The Disney parks were all Adrian could imagine and more. From enjoying the rides to meeting all the characters, he had a blast!  The part of his trip that he was most excited for was visiting The Wizarding World of Harry Potter where he could practice all his wizardry skills.

In addition to the parks, Adrian and his family were able to squeeze in a visit to the Kennedy Space Center. Adrian loves all things airplanes, space, and technology, so he was beyond excited to see the control rooms, spaceships, and astronaut uniforms at the museum.

“Adrian had a rough time with treatments some days, but he kept looking forward to his wish,” said Adrian’s mom. “This trip put a positive spin on being diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, and we always remind him of that.”
