Cesar has always loved music and dancing. His favorite genres are hip hop, dubstep, techno and Spanish music. Even after being diagnosed with cancer, he never let his medical condition stop him, or hold him back from doing everything he loves.
Music is what gave him the strength to push through the rough days and nights of his treatments.
When asked what he would wish for, he knew that being a DJ was something he dreamed to be. Not only did Cesar want to be a DJ, he wanted to have his own DJ equipment so he could share his love of music with others. He knew how music helped him and hoped it could help others too. He named himself DJ Survivor because he was brave and survived cancer.
Cesar had to wait for some time before his wish was granted and kept asking when it was going to happen – he simply couldn’t wait! When the day finally came, he was thrilled to see all of the DJ equipment sitting there just waiting for him to play.
His wish has given back in many ways over the last year. He has been invited to scratch records and talk live on air at U92, the Hip Hop radio station, guest DJ at a concert where he hung out with stars and VIPs, be the DJ for his school’s Hero’s assembly, and spin for two Make-A-Wish® Utah events.
This past February, Cesar was invited to co-host a local country station, KBRV Radio in Idaho. He was told that he was the boss and was on the air for six straight hours pushing buttons, talking, playing music, interviewing, and helping with a telethon that raised funds for Make-A-Wish® Idaho.
The power and impact of his wish has touched the lives of many, and he continues to share his hope, strength and joy with others.
