ASSOCIATED FOOD STORES TO PRESENT OVER $72,000 TO MAKE-A-WISH® UTAH
SALT LAKE CITY— During their most recent Star Icon fundraising campaign, Associated Retail Operations (Macey’s, Fresh Market, Dan’s, Lin’s and Dick’s Markets) raised $72,334.20 to help make the dreams of Utah kids facing life-threatening medical conditions come true.
ARO stores rallied together to help make wishes a reality and will present a check to Make-A-Wish® Utah (MAWU) Wednesday, January 21 at 2:30 p.m. at MAWU’s A Wishing Place. Thanks to the dedication of each store, their team members, and considerate guests, the sincere wishes of 14 Utah children will be granted.
“Make-A-Wish Utah is honored to partner with Associated Retail Operations’ annual fundraiser,” said Jared Perry, CEO of Make-A-Wish® Utah. “It is wonderful to see local stores coming together to bring hope, strength and joy into the lives of children in our community who are battling life-threatening illnesses. Because of ARO’s generous support and partnership, many heartfelt wishes will come true.”
The Annual Star Icon campaign is MAWU’s largest external fundraising event. During the last four years, ARO stores have raised over $277,000 and have helped grant the wishes of approximately 53 Utah kids.
“Each year we look forward to working with Make-A-Wish. As a locally-owned business, we appreciate the opportunity to give back to the communities we serve and allow deserving children who face so many challenges to enjoy their precious childhood,” said Troy Thomas, vice president of Associated Retail Operations.
