MAKE-A-WISH® UTAH TEAMS UP WITH MILLION MILES AT MILLER CHARITY RIDE
SALT LAKE CITY— Pedal power will help make wishes come true as Make-A-Wish® Utah (MAWU) partners for the first time with Larry H. Miller Charities’ 4th annual Million Miles at Miller charity ride.
This year’s action-packed adventure will cruise through the Salt Lake Valley on Saturday, September 13, starting at 8 a.m. from the District Megaplex Theatre in South Jordan. The event features a 15 mile fun ride in addition to fully supported 25, 55 and 100 mile options. Proceeds from the event will benefit MAWU and Larry H. Miller Charities.
Beginning Monday September 8, the fountain in front of Megaplex Theaters at the District will be known as the
“Make-A-Wish Wishing Well.” For the duration of the week, members of the community will have the opportunity to help make dreams a reality by tossing their coins into the fountain in honor of Utah children facing life-threatening medical conditions. All proceeds collected from the Wishing Well will be donated to MAWU.
“This event is a unique opportunity that provides a way for the community to rally together in the true spirit of wishing in honor of our wish kids, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to share the power of a wish.” said Jenny Hortin, MAWU’s Volunteer Manager.
In addition to the ride, festivities at the Kid Zone will begin at 8 a.m. and include a bounce house, rock climbing wall, chalk and balloon artists, clowns, jugglers, a free movie showing and more. Kids will also have the opportunity to decorate their bikes and participate in the Kid’s Parade beginning at 10 a.m.
